Houda Ben Younes

Houda Ben Younes

Consultant

Houda is an architect and cultural heritage specialist with experience in designing, managing, and leading community-driven conservation, restoration, and heritage valorisation projects. She holds a Master’s degree in Architecture, Landscape, and Archaeology from Sapienza University of Rome and a PhD in Architecture from the University of Carthage. As a former consultant at ICCROM-Sharjah, she contributed to safeguarding Arab historic cities and adapting heritage to climate change. She also played a key role in a successful UNESCO World Heritage inscription.

Sylvain Gache

Sylvain Gache

Senior Consultant

Sylvain is a seasoned professional who initially built his career in research, then in teaching, based on a master’s degree in history, archaeology, and geography, followed by doctoral research in history. More recently, he has shifted his focus to the field of information sciences (libraries, archives), where he also obtained a master’s degree. He is now particularly interested in implementing design thinking methods and participatory approaches in cultural projects.

Abdullah Halawa

Abdullah Halawa

Senior Consultant

Abdullah is a distinguished architect and heritage expert with 25 years of international experience. He holds a Master’s in Managing Archaeological Sites from UCL and led regional initiatives at ICCROM-Sharjah on traditional knowledge and combating illicit trafficking. He designed academic programs and provided technical capacity-building in partnership with UNESCO, INTERPOL, and ALESCO. Previously, he directed major conservation projects for UNESCO World Heritage sites as Head of Conservation Studies in Syria.
